Greetings Gamble Montessori Students, Parents and Community,

Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! I am excited to get started.

Due to the current local spread of the COVID-19 virus, we will begin the school year with distance learning for all students.

We heard the frustrations expressed last spring by our parents, students and staff concerning distance learning, especially the inconsistencies across classrooms and schools. Here at Gamble Montessori High School, we are committed to ensuring that, going forward, distance learning is productive and positive. And I can share that our teachers and staff worked hard this summer to greatly improve our distance-learning experience.

Parent and Student Orientations

At this time we have planned our virtual parent orientation for August 24 at 6:30 pm. This presentation will be hosted on Meeting ID 261-796-800. (Watch the Parent Orientation Recording here.)

Our students will have a unique orientation process that is partially in person for materials pick up but also hosted by each team on Google Meet. On August 25 and August 26 students will need to arrange transportation to our campus and park in the Epworth parking lot. Once parked, you will need to walk to the front of the building to pick up materials from your specific team of teachers.  The in-person materials pick up will take place during the day at a specific time based on your last name:

  • 9–10 a.m. — students with last names A–G
  • 10–11 a.m. — students with last names H–M

Blended-Learning Model and Full Remote Model

We know that students learn best in our classrooms. Our goal is to shift to the blended-learning model the week of September 28 if the community health situation improves. This model would bring students to school 2–3 days per week in "A" groups and "B" groups, and students would study at home remotely the other days. A decision on whether to begin blended learning will be made the week of September 14.

Please keep any information you receive from Cincinnati Public Schools explaining your children's schedule under blended learning, so it is handy when the decision is made.

CPS is working with the Cincinnati Health Department to monitor COVID-19 cases, and we are prepared to adjust quickly if the pandemic situation changes.

I’m looking forward to a successful school year. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to call: 363-2600
